  • Do I really need a attorney?

    In most cases, the answer is yes. You have a business and you want to make sure you are protected. Most business owners are not versed in the law so it is necessary to have an experiences attorney assist you.

  • When should I hire you?

    It is best to hire an attorney at the beginning of your business dealings; however, that doesn't always happen. Sometimes I am contacted once an issue arises. If you are having a legal issue, you should contact me.

  • I have an established business. Can you still help me?

    Yes. I have clients in different business stages. Whether you are in the pre-startup, startup or growth/expansion stage or have an issue outside the scope of business development, I can assist you. If you are looking for business consulting services, Project Pathworks can assist you.

  • Can I afford your legal services?

    Legal fees are an expense to the business, but they are a necessary expense. I have ways to structure fees that are mutually beneficial  so your ideas become reality. 

  • How do you bill for your services?

    There are various ways to bill for legal services. I have a startup business package that has a flat rate. This option is a good option if you plan to start a new business. Other options include flat rate for certain services and hourly rates based on the work performed. At the initial consulation, I explain the various billing options to clients and let them determine which option is best based on their budget.

  • Do you require a retainer?

    A retainer is typically required for legal services. The retainer amount is placed into a trust account and withdrawls are made based on services rendered. Any portion of the retainer that is unused is returned to you.

  • Are there ways to reduce costs of your services?

    Yes. Part of my job as an attorney and counselor at law is to counsel you through the business law process. There may be elements that you can handle on your own. If so, I will explain how to do them, if that is your preference. 


    Additionally, there are ways to reduce the costs based on the amount of services provided. 

  • What types of clients do you usually work with?

    My clients range from clients who are just starting a business to small and medium-sized emerging businesses. 


    The business segments that I work in include, but are not limited to, health and wellness, restaurants/retail food, cannabis, creative entreprenuers and those  in the arts, communication, entertainment and sports areas.

  • How much experience do you have?

    I have been a licensed attorney in Michigan since passing the bar exam in 2006.


    My business experience includes over 25 years of marketing.

  • What is your approach to conflict resolution?

    The ability to negotiate is key. Nobody wins with litigation - usually both sides are unhappy with the decision and it is very expensive. However, I leave the option open for my clients should the court system be the correct remedy to protect your assets.

  • Will there be anyone else handling my legal issue?

    No. I personally work on each issue and represent each client. I take less clients so I can provide personalized attention to each client.

  • How do you handle client conflicts of interest?

    I limit the number of clients I take so conflicts of interest do not occur. I do not take clients who are direct competitors of other clients or forner business partners who may pose a conflict of interest.

  • How long to you typically take to get back to people?

    I understand that when you have a question, you want an answer quickly. I am accessible and prompt. Calls come directly to me and I usually am able to return calls by the next business day.

  • How do you typically communicate with your clients?

    One of the benefits of working directly with me is that I am a virtual general counsel. I'm availabile as questions arise. You will have a direct link to me through face to face meetings, conference calls, e-mail, text (if appropriate). 


    With the times we are currently under, virtual calls are available through Zoom, Skype and FaceTime.

  • Do you make referrals to other attorneys?

    Yes, I'm willing to put you in touch with collegues on specialized issues. I have a team of attorneys I work with and trust. If you desire, I will work directly with the referred attorney to maintain the status of your case.

  • Do you belong to any bar associations?

    All Michigan attorneys must be a member of the State Bar of Michigan. I am a member in good standing.
